St. Louis Photographer || AJ + Brian

All of my New Years Resolutions are business related this year! One of them being to blog more! So I thought I'd kick off 2017 with an adorable couple I photographed a few weeks back..

These two were an absolute blast to work with and I can't help but drool over all the pretty fall colors and historic homes right here in St. Louis. AJ and Brian both brought things that held significance to them and their relationship. AJ is an english teacher and brought a book with one of her favorite quotes for a ring shot. Brian brought his guitar and ended a fun session with beautiful acoustic music. We laughed lots, danced in front of a beautiful home, and soaked up a gorgeous fall afternoon in our favorite city. I love photographing two people in love. It's honestly one of my favorite parts of my job. So enjoy these two cuties and be on the lookout for more blogs in the future!

St. Louis Photographer || Just The Beginning

Honestly, where has this past year gone? At the end of every year, I always look back and think to myself, “how is it possible that the years keep going by faster?” But they do say that time flies when you’re having fun. I can definitely tell you that I am having the time of my life right now.

Let me just say, this has been my most successful year yet. I did things this year that I wouldn’t have even DREAMED of as a new business owner my senior year of high school. I wrote an article and had work published for my favorite photography magazine, Lemonade & Lenses (still can’t get over that..). I teamed up with Jager Boston and The BJC Foundation to produce all the photographs for their big yearly “Giving Book.” This project was by far the largest I’ve ever done and I was able to work with and photograph some incredible humans. I got to travel to new and incredible places, shoot some amazing weddings, meet and collaborate with some beautiful people, shoot two births, host fun giveaways...I could honestly go on forever! And it is all thanks to people like YOU who support me, pray for me, and cheer me on as I go. I wouldn’t be doing what I love every single day if it weren’t for you and God’s constant outpouring of grace. So thank you.

All things business aside, this has also been a very big year for myself! I graduated from college. I helped move Alex, my fiance, into his new home. I got a dog (who you’ve probably seen all over my social media outlets.) I got engaged to Alex, the man of my dreams, in July and started planning my wedding!! I also had not one but TWO foot surgeries that put me out for many many weeks. I’m currently still healing up from my last foot surgery and am SO appreciative of all the patience and support I’ve received through the surgeries and recoveries. It truly has made the healing process so much easier knowing that my clients are the absolute best and so understanding during this crazy season of my life.

So to commemorate such a beautiful year, I thought I would share with everyone one of my most favorite memories from 2016. Just a few weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing my very first birth! Now this is something I have dreamed of doing for a very long time and let me just say, it was one of the most beautiful and powerful experiences I’ve ever photographed or witnessed. All those long hours of watching Kacy labor, all the waiting, and all the anticipation was met with the most perfect and sweet little baby girl. I left the hospital that day with a very very grateful heart. Not only because I have the best job ever that allows me to be apart of something as meaningful as a birth, but that we have a God that loves us beyond anything we could ever imagine. A God that creates such perfect things and makes it so I can capture all these beautiful human beings and moments with my camera. So I’ll stop talking now and let you scroll through this incredible birth story. Also, Kacy, the mama pictured, is my HERO. But before you scroll, just know that I am so thankful for you. I don’t like to think of this time of the year as the “end.” It’s just the beginning. Let’s make 2017 the best year yet!
